Join our team for the 2019 season.
Work at Anderson Acres Farm is for the tough, diligent, and creative.
We are looking for like-minded people to jump in for the summer on a full time basis. If you enjoy working with your hands, getting out into the sun and soil, and learning about how to grow fresh, beautiful flowers, then this could be a great fit for you. Join our small team and work on a lovely 200-acre property just behind Lake Waramaug where we produce specialty cut flowers.
Daily duties can include but are not limited to: seeding, planting, pruning, weeding, bed prep, flower harvest, bouquet packaging, and deliveries. We are especially in need of folks who are interested in and/or have experience working with flowers or vegetables. We are seeking someone who is available to work weekdays and some weekends, and who is self-motivated and able to work independently. If you enjoy plants and have a flair for design, we want you on our team!
Previous work experience, farming and/or floral background strongly preferred--if your background is in design, please send reference pictures.
Ability to learn on the job
A good work ethic and positive attitude
Comfortable working around dogs, cats, and chickens
Means of transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean history
Ability to repeatedly lift 50lbs and general physical stamina
Compensation is $12-16/hr, depending on experience, as well as plenty of flowers, vegetables, and eggs to take home. We are seeking individuals who are interested in the potential for long-term employment and growing into a managerial role. We are currently looking for someone to fill this seasonal position who could start part-time (20-25 hrs/wk) in April, ramp up to full-time (40-50 hrs/wk) by mid-May, and then end the season with us at the end of October. Please send a cover letter and resume to Kat at firstname.lastname@example.org.
While we do encourage applicants from all locations to apply, please be aware than an on site interview is required.
